Model #:

NIKKO BETA III

VINTAGE
HIGH END-ISH

At a Glance

The Beta III is a late‑70s/early‑80s high‑end stereo preamplifier from Nikko’s respected “Beta” series, built during the company’s most serious push into true audiophile electronics. It uses a fully discrete, low‑noise topology with good channel separation, wide‑bandwidth response, and an excellent phono stage. The front panel offers flexible tone controls with defeat, high/low filters, multiple tape loops, and the input selector makes solid clicks, wrapped in a plain black metal shell with a clean layout. The chassis is heavy for a preamp, with a well‑shielded internal layout and a smooth, relay‑based muting circuit that keeps operation quiet and well-behaved. Unit has some minor scratches and some rack rash on its right side--operationally perfect.Read More
