The RTA 15T is a BIG floor-standing system 43"X12.5"X15.5" that weighs 70-some lbs ea. A vertical array of four 6-1/2-inch bass/midrange drivers, using trilaminate polymer cones, occupies the front panel. At their center is the ferro-fluid-cooled trilaminate-dome SL3000 tweeter. An angled “diffraction spoiler” extending upward and forward from the tweeter’s mounting plate breaks up the symmetry of the vertical driver arrangement. The resulting reduced diffraction smooths response from 2k to 10k and improves imaging as well. The vertical line array of drivers radiates through a wide horizontal angle but narrow vertical angle, thereby minimizing reflections from floor and ceiling, providing great imaging over a broad listening area. Below the array a 10" passive extends the low bass and a second passive with a different tuning is located at the bottom of the rear panel.Polk’s specs response (between the -3-dB limits) of 27 to 25,000 Hz, a moderate sensitivity of 90 dB, and an impedance characteristic compatible with 8-ohm amplifier outputs.
