• The Episode® EA-AMP-12D-70A is an efficient twelve-channel, Class-D amplifier that delivers a powerful 70 watts RMS per channel. Perfectly at home in multi-room applications, it features audio sensing turn-on, loop outputs, adjustable gain control and bridgeable outputs, giving installers the versatility required for today's sophisticated audio systems.

Digital Amplification

• Our engineers have combined advanced digital amplifier technologies with installer-friendly features to create a robust power plant built from the ground up for today's multi-channel audio applications. Unlike analog amplifiers from the competition, our digital amplifiers are much more energy efficient and run up to 80% cooler. Plus, with a reduced need for heat sinks, you'll save space too with a chassis that's up to 30% smaller than traditional analog amplifiers!

Audio-Sensing And 12V Trigger Turn-On

• Three convenient turn-on modes make it easy to integrate with simple volume controls or sophisticated control systems. Audio-sense is perfect for Sonos or Apple Airplay multi-room audio – when the last source shuts down, the amplifier will gracefully go into a power-saving standby mode. The 12V trigger inputs and outputs allow you to use a preamp or control system to turn the amp on or off, or have it "wake up" another device when the amp is activated.
• Note: The front panel power button is inoperative when the 12V Trigger or Audio Sense power modes are selected.

Global Inputs And Loop Outputs

• From single source with volume controls (Global A/B) to independent sources at each room (Direct) – or any combination in between – this amplifier has the flexibility you need. Global A/B provides two independent global sources that can be mapped to desired channel pairs. When using a stack of amplifiers, the loop outputs are a convenient way to daisy-chain the signal to downstream components. This eliminates the need for RCA splitters and gives a much cleaner (and faster) install.

Bridgeable Speaker Outputs

• For larger speakers or high-power applications, bridgeable channels allow you to combine any 2 channels into a single 140W channel. For example, run 2 "standard" zones of audio plus one high power zone. Or use this amplifier as the ultimate bi-amping solution for two-channel applications with 4 bridged channels!

Gain Controls

• The EA-AMP-12D-70A offers gain adjustments for each channel pair, allowing you to independently trim output levels in each zone whether using the global or line level inputs. In volume control-based systems, these may be used to prevent harmful clipping that could cause damage to the amplifier or speakers.

Built-In ESD And Surge Protection

• Multi-room AV environments can be tough on an amplifier. Each speaker run acts like an antenna, so all kinds of nasty things can happen when the weather changes. That’s why we engineered this amp with surge protection components that exceed CE Level 3 standards. During development, every connection was tortured using both an ESD and lightning simulator – all speaker outputs, RCA connectors even the power input have been surged ESD tested with up to 15,000V and Surge tested at 2,400V. Most importantly, though, they each lived to tell about it.

Grounds For Improvement

• If you’ve ever experience hum from your speakers or noise on your TV, odds are it was due to system grounding. This amplifier was engineered for not only the best surge protection but also with an isolated common ground for the audio circuits. The result is a great sounding, and reliable system that your customer will enjoy for years.
